Tasted October 1, 2005 at an offline so brief comments only. Opened and served immediately in a Riedel Restaurant Series Bordeaux stem. Dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Aromas showed a some bell pepper, crushed cherries and wet stone. Just a little of that bell pepper up front on the palate that quickly gave way to camomille, cinnamon, crushed red cherries and a dash of mint. I wasn’t quite as impressed with this wine as many others were that evening but this is still a pretty good Monte Bello. I’d recommend holding another 3-5 years before trying again and see where it takes you from there. I’m passing at this price point myself.
