Earth and spice were the dominant themes on the nose and palate, with baked red fruit notes throughout, like a sour cherry cobbler with cinnamon. But there was an undercurrent of alcohol heat that didn't dissipate over an hour plus, as I hoped it would. Maybe because it was a warm night, that didn't sit well with me. Will see how it is on night two...

OK, night two, and yes, as expected, the heat is gone. The spice and depth is still here, w strawberry notes more prominent on the palate and finish. Much better, to me at least.
