Friday, December 3, 2010 - Tasted over 3 days. It's been 2 and a half years since my last bottle of this. It hasn't budged a bit -- it's as tight and tannic as it was in March of 2008 when I bought 5 bottles. The nose is very faint, but is not bad -- hints of dusty raspberry and cranberry. On the palate, some nice dark berry flavors, but very, very tannic and tight. Did not improve over the days of being open in bottle. Tasting with salami and cheese helped a bit with the tannins, but the fruit was just not there. Not a bad wine, but I guess I was just expecting more from this given the hype of the 2005 Bordeaux vintage. This will probably improve a little bit with a few years in the cellar, but IMO, there is not enough fruit to think that this will turn into something very good.
