Friday, December 31, 2010 - Finally decided to drink this one to ring in the new year, a gift from a friend for my 40th a few years ago. Color is very youthful deep dark ruby, with no bricking at the edges - very impressive given this is 25 years old.

Nose was terrific, rich, layered. Cassis, earthiness on the nose, and a touch of leather. Beautiful.

Flavors and texture matched the nose. Classic bordeaux complexity. Cassis most prominent, touch of cranberry, nice cedar, minerality and some tannins for structure. Nice balance of acidity too. Longish finish.

Delicious. Not sure it gets better from here, so no need to wait in my opinion. Would love to get more of this
