Monday, January 3, 2011 - Still fairly dark in the core but opening to a clear ruby in the rim. Evolved nose of red fruits (no longer dark), leather and some moisty notes together with a more animal side - not intrusive. Full bodied though maintaining a sense of elegance. The fruit is still in command supported by an iron note and more defined earthy/peppery tone. Tannins are resolved but there's acidity transporting the wine into a medium to long finish. Still full of life and in a great drinking phase.
