Tuesday, January 18, 2011 - The very first sniff makes you think animal and one that is both agile and sneaky. The Wolftrap is a garnet wine with a medium body. The nose is very aromatic with notes of game, bacon, smoke and vanilla. Pleasingly soft in the mouth, with juicy acidity, and tastes of red raspberry, plum and smoked meat. The medium finish features red raspberry and heavily toasted oak, leading to a dark chocolate note. Amazingly consistent with my previous note. For lover's of Mourvedre blends, this is a steal at the less than $10 price point.
