At first, nothing at all showing on the palate beyond copious tannin; eventually some fruit emerges and there is a definite Nuits blood-iron note in the finish but the wine is still very angular and closed, oddly enough. My impression is this wine is still not near ready to drink. It has a hard edge. Will it ever unfurl?
