Friday, May 20, 2011 - Sublime. A singular and lovely wine that seems like it could age and improve for a very long time. Dark, viscous carmel wine with toffee, almonds, brown butter, coffee, lime and on and on. A wine to enjoy in a large brandy glass (the ones at the winery are really huge) and just smell and very slowly sip. We visited this winery last fall and were amazed at the history and hard work behind this spectacular wine - careful selection of grapes, the drying room, same small old barrels for aging, The non-temperature controlled 10 years in the attic and the centuries old and mysterious yeast. A rare treat.
