Saturday, January 15, 2011 - (overlooked posting this when actually drank, but memorable enough to post later...)Quite dissapointed to be honest. Its a very good quality wine...if I wanted a good Bordeaux. It has all the characteristics of Cabernet Sauvignon, which is not what I'm looking for in a Rioja. I read somewhere that the Spanish authorities turn a blind eye to the amount that is included in this wine. In my opinion, the same producer's Vina Ardanza is a far better bet if you are looking for high-end Rioja with its distinctive Vanilla. And is about ten quid a bottle cheaper. I suppose it provides a cheaper alternative to the ludicrously priced Bordeaux on the market.
