Monday, August 8, 2011 - deep ruby. Rustic and earthy, with good dark fruit, and a stony deep meaty- leathery mouthfeel. This is not elegant, but interestingly rustic and wild, with somewhat unchecked acidity, that actually works very well with the density and chewy rustic mouthfeel, essentially taking you on a contrasting ride without a seatbelt. Very long finish with chewy tannins. Complex enough to hold your attention. A very good pizza wine, which is what it was tonight. 88 pts
