91 Points

Sunday, December 25, 2011 - Almost backward still - stiff acidity, firm tannins, notable heat would be too much if not for the prodigious, focused fruit. Cassis, candied plum, creamy vanilla, a touch of smoke. Moderately long finish. No one found at the table found it drinkable with food, though interesting to sip. I'll wait at least three more years before opening the next bottle. 91, with potential to improve. I should add, not half as ready or nearly as delicious as the 2003 Claret I had couple months ago.
