Thursday, April 5, 2012 - Bought on release and cellar stored since then. On release this was a monster in all aspects. Now after 11 years it is still alive but it's not a better wine. The nose is solid with loads of smoke and fruit. The palate has calmed down considerly. At first the palate was thin and short. After an hour of air it has really opened. Lots of blackberry and vanilla. Little sign of tannins. I don't get any secondary development. Overall it is a good wine but lacking any complexity. If you have any of these left, they have life left but I wouldn't wait for more aging.
