Thursday, November 22, 2012 - Outstanding. At once powerful and graceful, this wine shows a stunning nose of minerals, wet earth, prune, fig newton filling and macerated blackberries. The rich and full bodied palate has ripe and grippy tannins, more of that fig, prune and plum style, abundant sweet spice notes, minerals, iron and graphite. The finish seems to go on for minutes. A little lackluster on day two but that was more my fault than the wine's. A beaut. Drinking well now but you are in no rush to start popping corks. So glad to have a few more.
