88 Points

Sunday, November 25, 2012 - This rating is actually (in my mind) quite strong, as 10-year old Zins are always at risk. This one only threw a bit of sediment, but the color and aromatics were still pure "Mike Officer." The alcohol (15.9%) was almost absent if not greatly receding, a nice factor, but the raisin-y characteristic of the flavor profile suggested it was just cresting or actually OTH. Other than that (over)ripeness, this went very well with London Broil with a Port-wine sauce. One more in the cellar and I wll do it with another of my Port-driven sauces, which seemed to blend well with it.
