Sunday, November 25, 2012 - Not impressed. After decanted for 90 minutes, oak derived aromas such as dark chocolate & expresso were dominant and overshadowed any other note. Same oak dominance continued for the next 4 hrs. I cannot say the mouthfeel showed the characteristic elegance and silky texture typical of older Opus vintages (e.g. '81 or '85), but I can appreciate its structure, near-sweet tannins and long finish. I will not be surprised if this wine gets better in 5-10 yrs.
