Allowing it to breathe for a while allows a hint of the Rhone-variety garrigue and smokiness to come through, but the palate remains big on fruit, though with food, the notes of chocolate and spice come through a bit. A tang enters the finish, making it very drinkable and fairly balanced. Will certainly drink well for a year or two more. 72
