Monday, February 25, 2013 - Opaque garnet/purple color. Nose: blackberry preserves, crushed blueberry, and plum sauce with accents of mocha, black olive, toffee, cinnamon, and black tea. Medium/full body on the palate: ripe blackberry, blackcurrant, and plum framed by bay leaf, espresso, toffee, black tea, and crushed rock. Medium acidity. Moderate rustic, stony tannins. Lingering bay leaf, black tea, and crushed rock on the long, dry finish. Needs 4-5 more years in the cellar to integrate and develop. Quite primary right now, but certainly powerful and ageworthy.
