90 Points

Friday, March 8, 2013 - Dark purple core with minimal color variation. The nose is expressive with an expansive leafiness, black fruits, and a component of earth. The palate is ripe but not jammy, nor big. The fruit is sweet and soft, well balanced by an acid lift that keeps the fruit from cloying. The mouthfeel is smooth and lithe but has power like a tensed muscle. The moderately lengthy finish is earthy and a little woody, with a nice snap of tannin. Good wine, nice rec from Phil at Bassin's.
