Monday, May 13, 2013 - I have to start this by saying I poured this in to the decanter, but didn't feel well, so I put the top on it and started drinking on day 2. I'm so glad. This was so pleasant with this extended airtime. Great black fruit, silky tannin as they had softened up with time, asian spice, pleasant mouthfeel, good acids and the heat isn't noticeble because the fruit holds up well. This has great aging potential. I'm now drinking the last 2 glasses on day 3 and its still wonderful. One of the most pleasant Rhone blends. Chapoutier has done this so well. The super ripe fruit is so enjoyable and it almost has a sweet feel even with it being a dry wine. There are olives, black tea and some florals to go along with this. Day 1 barely showed anything but acids and heat. Glad I waited, and have 5 more. In no hurry to drink these up and makes me feel great about my 2010 CdP purchases. Enjoy with plenty of air time now or wait until this improves in the bottle. Excellent QPR.
