Sunday, August 18, 2013 - Great mature Chinon. Thinning ruby - age shows in the body but not at all in the colour. Restrained, jammy nose: possibly slightly confected - candied red fruits. Gentle red pepper on the back of the nose. Initially, typically Chinon - a touch of chocolate, for example - then mellows quickly into a beautifully soft, dry wine with mixed red and some black fruits plus a little blueberry. Still a little hint of acid on an otherwise luscious finish.
