Wednesday, August 28, 2013 - Deep cherry-garnet color. Interesting spicy carrot cake nose, with cherry and Quilceda violets and pine eventually emerging with air, along with a less pleasant mineral, medicinal edge. Short and linear, but showing great structure for drinking now, and excellent balance despite a touch of heat mid-palate. Bottle variation is increasing as these age, but this relatively weak bottle still gave much pleasure.
