Monday, September 30, 2013 - Napa Valley Wine and Food Excursion 2013; 9/30/2013-10/5/2013 (Napa Valley, California): This deep ruby/red (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) wine, aged entirely in American oak, shows a moderately intense nose of dark plums, lavender potpourri, tobacco and eucalyptus. The palate is round, medium-bodied, lightly tannic and has flavors which mirror the nose. The alcohol (listed as 13.3%) is nicely integrated. Solid in the middle and concluding long, this is an enjoyable Cabernet which should hold up well over the next five years. Drink now-2018.
