Saturday, May 26, 2007 - Decanted 2 hr’s. Rich, almost oily nose of plums, blackberry and cassis with some light mineral notes and oak spice that delivers on the power-laden and mouth coating palate along with lightly toasted chocolate. Silky fine and prominent tannins have good structure along with light acidity, this picks up some anise spice on the long, full and slightly tannic finish. Currently, this needs about 3 hr’s in a decanter to open up and hit its prime. This bottle was throwing fairly significant sediment.
