2012 Scherrer Winery Dry Rosé

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

88 Points

Saturday, January 4, 2014 - Screwcap or Stelvin closure. 13%abv. 60% Syrah grapes and 40% Grenache. The wine in the glass is a pretty coral color--perhaps closer to orange than pink in shade. It is slightly astringent in a good way and quite refreshing on the palate. I find red berries and citrus notes on the nose and tart red fruits, especially pomegranate on the palate. There is also a suggestion of ruby red grapefruit. This wine was really enjoyable with chicken thighs baked with vegetables (and 1/2 cup of the wine.) I gave it 88 points but debated between 88 or 89.
