Thursday, January 16, 2014 - My name is Brian and I am a wine snob. This was given us as a gift over the Holidays. I think I opened it to add to some stock while making stroganoff, and it was in our wine cabinet opened, but corked for about 9 days. I wanted a quick glass of red to walk around the house, so I figured what the heck. It was the right color for a CA cab and had no viscosity to speak of. I was not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised at the first whiff. Everything was subtle, but there were a hint of floral exotics and even dark fruit. The tannins had by now escaped so this was really mellow almost, boring. On the tongue, it was smooth and enjoyable. It lacked any complexity probably due to the nine days of being cooped up an open bottle. It’s lack of anything difficult going on reminded me of oh so many Merlots I have tried to enjoy. For the value (Even if I had paid for it), it is a nice table wine.
