The palate is both hard and warm, a characteristic I often seem to find in young Heathcote reds. Crunchy, spiky acids frame medium gritty tannins; it's medium/full-bodied, but still warm, finishes fumey and with short/medium length. Not a hugely expressive nose, not a memorable palate. Perhaps time will help, but it's not so impressive just now.
