Saturday, March 15, 2014 - This was opened with a hanger steak...not a particularly good pairing since the steak just dominated this wine. We continued with this wine after dinner and then it was more expressive. Very nice high toned fruits on the nose and a fair amount of sandalwood. A hint of tannin on a nice finish. The acidity was nice, but hit only certain spots on the midpalate; there was a lot of sour-cherry and cranberry. This was consistent with other 2011 Oregon Pinot Noirs that I have tasted, and since this is a vintage that I have rather enjoyed for its restraint and subtle notes, I'll wait for a better food pairing... Nevertheless, this does seem to be drinking rather well now.
