Saturday, May 10, 2014 - Decanted for around 30 mins. Dark purple color. Not overly aromatic on the nose with some black cherry and currant along with a bit of pyrazine and cedar cigar box. Slightly tight on the palate with medium+ tannin and acidity covering up some very nice dark fruit and earthy, tobacco flavors. Definitely more of a food wine, at least right now, I think this wine will be better with a bit more age on it or a longer decant if drinking now. It is definitely a well made and well balanced wine and I look forward to my remaining bottles.
