Thursday, May 22, 2014 - Nose: rich, red and sumptuous. Quite overt and powerful.
Palate: Quite rich and concentrated but not particularly refined. Initially a bit grippy on opening, it subdued after a while in the carafe. Nevertheless, this bottle lacked a little finesse and the red fruits dominant (raspberry especially) palate did not linger for long. We both much preferred a 2008 Arnoux-Lachaux Echezaux that we had a few nights earlier (which had darker and more complex fruits, and was much more refined).
