Tuesday, June 10, 2014 - Not as brutally tannic and primary as the bottle I had about a year ago, though this was opened a few hours in advance, which may have helped. There's bright plum and red berried fruit at the core with tinges of earth and that oaky Draper perfume, but there's also a faint high toned varnishy/VA like note on the nose that remains in the background and doesn't detract. It's still very primary with a lot of youthful intensity to the fruit and a fair bit of tannin lingering, but it's quite enjoyable and nowhere near as forbidding as my last experience.
