Saturday, August 23, 2014 - Cork was only stained about 12mm and had heavy crystals. Wine was cloudy light-to-medium orange-tinted garnet with slight sediment. On the nose, it's predominantly prunes, sour cherry, menthol, butterscotch, and a bit of funk/earth. On the palate, medium-full body of sour cherry, dried cranberry, violet, cola, green peppercorn, eucalyptus, bell pepper, and grape tomato. There's a slight sweet, zest flavor as well. Medium finish with good structure. Much richer on the second night. Rating: 92.5
