Sunday, August 31, 2014 - Deep red center, red/purple rim with some signs of age.
Sweet and fruity up front, mashed plums and ripe cherries, a little herbaceous, olive skins.
Smooth, dark cherries, then acidity and good tannins, a little lean in the middle, good ripe fruit on the finish, not green, some slightly distracting wood overtones lurk in the background.
Seems a little out of balance at the moment, has acid and tannins to last a while, not sure if the fruit will follow but interesting to see where this goes.
