Friday, November 7, 2014 - This wine is a heck of a treat. Very dark fruits on the nose, brambly, with hints of licorice, leather and tar. This wine has some serious weight to it, but the acidity never makes it feel heavy. Flavors are mostly around the blackberry family with notes of smoke. Great structure without the tannin overwhelming - this drank very well with a brief decanting. Would be perfect with a nice charred steak, but is great on its own as well.
