Wednesday, March 18, 2015 - This wine is still drinking beautifully. Pleasing upon opening, with dark berry, and sundried cherry and tomato and also red clay earthy notes on the nose. Then after 10-15 minutes, it seemed to turn negatively toward an overly oxidative place. Then after half an hour, this wine deepened in intensity and complexity driving it toward balance with its fresh acidity yet delicately concentrated red berry core and earthy black and red tar and mineral backbone. The resolving/ resolved tannins still give it structure and length in the mouth. And the nose continues to impress and evolve. Dark leather, and olive and fruity tar and tree leaves. Raisins and tomatoes all just perfectly concentrated by the sun's rays. A juicy freshness permeates and makes this wine a star.
