Tuesday, April 7, 2015 - This is my 1st 20+ year old burgundy. Picked it up for $45 at TCWC. Figured at that price point it was worth a gamble even if this is past prime. Very similar notes to FYC in 2013. Mine had quite bit of bricking. Similar cork seepage up to the top but stayed in tact. Decanted for about 20 min and had my first glass. Not much on the nose just yet, little beef broth, mushroom and slight perfume. lots of acid and still solid tannin but not much fruit or nuance coming through just yet. will update as progress through bottle.
Day 2: tannins more even, more pepper still solid acid , a bit less tart than day 1...but still very little complexity or fruit coming through. Has a very thin body...almost watery with very little texture to the mouth feel. but if you like acid this wine has it. it just lingers for 30 sec +
