Saturday, April 18, 2015 - The Estate's flagship wine dating back to 1985, this "Super Tuscan" is a blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. After Sassicaia, this is our favourite "Italian Bordeaux". A dark ruby red with a complex, titillating and rich nose. A powerful, voracious, slightly sweet, nice tannins and great balance greets your palate ending with a long, elegant finish. Wow!!! The wines rested for 18 months in barrels (12 before blending, 6 blended) and another 12 months in the bottle before the release. These folks work hard and deserve a big Hallelujah, Praise the good people of Ornellaia!!!
