Friday, June 19, 2015 - Unusual wine this, worth trying. Its made from 100% Mataro (called Mourvedre in the Rhone) from some very old vines. Deep ruby in the glass, with an intriguing nose of cassis and leather and spices. On the palate it really hits some high notes early on, with lots of adiditiy and tannins, then the fruit coming through to deliver a long, sweet, finish. A really fun bottle to share with friends, a bit different.
