2013 Ojai Syrah Santa Barbara County

Likes this wine:

Tuesday, July 21, 2015 - In the glass, the color of this wine is definitely purple—i.e., blue is mixed with red. The nose detects floral, violets, and light berry fruit. I’m pretty sure that the color prejudiced me, because the first flavor I detect on introduction is blueberry. There is definitely fruit on introduction, but, thankfully, it is not syrupy. There is a nice acid kick that ameliorates the fruit. Reasonable tannin. Fairly full-bodied. Certainly enjoyable, but definitely, more of a “drink now” wine than a “lay down for future reward” wine.
