Monday, January 23, 2006 - A disappointment when tasted from bottle. The nose is closed and the palate is almost diluted in quality. Some of you may be thinking ‘how can Angélus be diluted?’ Basically, this wine has lots of oak, but that is not what I look for in a wine. The oak is overpowering the nuances of plum and very ripe raspberry that one detects, at this stage. Given the quality of wine from this estate, I am certain it will improve in bottle, but given the price, you should look at other vintages, including a much better – and less expensive – 2004.
