Saturday, December 19, 2015 - Devin and I held an impromptu Christmas Veranda Time and were pleasantly surprised to have 35 people show up despite some surprise rain and week before the Big Day. We opened a total of six wines, three white, three red, trying to cover all the bases not knowing what pot luck side dishes would arrive. The main staple was a tomato based chicken orzo soup that was a hit.

This white came highly recommended by Wine Spectator in a recent review. Light straw yellow in color. Very crisp. It was crisp indeed and citrusy. A lot of the tasting of earlier vintages suggest kiwifruit, but I did not get it. In looking up the winery, I was tickeld to doscover it was only a few miles from Table Mountain in the Constantia Region in the Cape of Good Hope. I had the pleasure of visiting there with my good friend Douglas and a great guy and PADI employee Peter D. The wine brought back memories. The score is a result of too many great wines. I look forward to trying this alone some evening soon.
