Friday, January 22, 2016 - 2016 Sella Ronda Ski Trip; 1/21/2016-1/24/2016 (Alta Badia, Italy): Having tried this a year ago ( at the same place and rated 95) and in full knowledge that it just at the start of its drinking window, we couldn't resist but ordering it again. And once again with the help of a good hour decanting this performed like the old school champion it is. Very classic but with that Napa characteristic of extra ripeness of fruit that makes it a touch more approachable. Elegant, complex lots of depth and length. A beauty. 95 again now but could easily be a lot higher in a few years.

1/26/2016 10:17:00 AM - A very situation to be in. It's for sure at the start of its drinking window but will not disappoint, and we do have a preference for older and more mature wines usually.
