90 Points

Thursday, November 15, 2007 - Dark in color, nose, and flavors. Lots of oak in the nose and in the mouth (of course -- it's Silver Oak after all). Still quite young and as a restaurant bottle it didn't have time to open up, so remained pretty tight. Quite a punch in the mouth with bold cherry, plum, and cranberry flavors and explosive oakiness. Surprisingly tannic, the flavors and finish were not as well balanced as previous Silver Oaks. Nice wine but not a great value.
