Thursday, June 2, 2016 - Bold and ripe cabernet-based wine. Serious and delicious purply fruit with excellent intensity and grip. Finishes tannic with notes of minerals ans Asian spices. One of the best Ornellaia's I've tried and I like drinking it now with a long decant but it clearly needs a bit more time for the tannins to resolve. 92+

We tend to agree, albeit we rated much higher...perhaps swayed by our love for all things Ornellaia (we just bought a case of their second, which sips very young and at a dramatic discount). We sipped too many bottles of our case last year, and we plan not to sip any again until circa 2020...Le Serre Nuove will have to suffice ;-).
