Then the palate opened up into this great blend of berries, oak, and cedar, with a fairly smooth finish. Then it closed up even tighter than the first glass, but became quite tannic on the finish. By the last bit (about 2 1/2 hours later), it found a middle ground and was quite enjoyable. At the price who wants to lay this down, but as long as it can figure out what it wants to be when it grows up, it definitely has the build to improve with some time in the bottle.
