87 Points

Sunday, October 23, 2016 - Rather deep garnet colour. Some brick red at the rim, though.
Nose: Autumn leaves, chokeberries, ink, earthy / rusty nails, cedar wood, lead pencil. (88p)
Taste: Dry, rustic arrival. First lead pencil and rusty nails (yes, actually), then follow a medium rich and slightly bitter fruitiness (sweet chokeberries and blueberries). The exit is a mixture of fresh acidity, sweet blueberries and some tannic dryness, lingering on into a slightly peppery aftertaste. Not bad at all! (87p)
An "old school" east bank Bordeaux, rustic and very enjoyable. I would also say that the oak now has become quite well integrated. Total score 87 points.
Perfectly mature now, but should keep for several more years (drink until 2020). It benefitted from decanting and 1/2 hour airing. Went very well with roasted lamb with root vegetables and mushrooms.
