Thursday, November 10, 2016 - Broadbent - Madeira, Port, and English Bubbles (One Market, SF): Medium plus amber in the glass.
Saline on the nose, with dusty nuts. Slight prickle of overripe, dried orange. Dates. dried citrus. Doesn’t smell overtly sweet, though there’s slight raisination.
Medium-sweet in the mouth, with some perceptible tannins and long, strong acid. Lively orange peel on the palate, driven by nuts and sweet dates - date skins. Nice and persistent.

87.4 g/L RS (2nd highest)
9.1 g/L TA (!!! c.f. Verdelho, Sercial at 7.6-7.7)
pH 3.31 (same as the sercial, but has more RS!)
TSO2 30mg/L
