Thursday, December 1, 2016 - Opened to breathe. Hot nose with oak and hint of tobacco, maybe mushrooms. Red berries, more oak, spices, hint of black pepper, and an acid finish. I like the complexity and QPR, but this is really hitting me as a medium bodied, not full bodied red. Easy to drink and a crowd pleaser for sure, but when I bought a case two years ago, I expected this to improve with age; so far its evolution has been a tad disappointing.
