Sunday, December 18, 2016 - From recent ex-Château release, the 1985 Léoville-Las Cases might be my favorite vintage for this estate. A beautifully pure and extrovert bouquet of creamy cassis, blackberry, pencil shavings and a classy framing of new oak. On the palate the wine is youthful, vibrant and supple, with great depth, concentration and length, and still underpinned by a chassis of fine, detailed tannins.
