Friday, February 24, 2017 - Light red, lightly bricked. Appealing nose of red cherries, white pepper, licorice, fennel seed, iron, and aged grappa (however no exaggerated alcohol, at 13%). Juicy and fresh fruity mouthfeel, balanced by firm yet elegant Nebbiolo tannins. The aged grappa smell makes you expect something way more plump, so the freshness is a pleasant surprise. Something I've experienced too in the better burgundies that smell like mon cheri chocolates but are way more elegant and tight. Not there yet, but very satisfying with food. Bravo!
