Community Tasting Note

93 Points

Thursday, February 23, 2017 - Was tight and closed upon opening, but after 1.5 -2 hrs of decanting, it opened nicely, and was well balanced and even a bit feminine in character. Notes of graphite and cedar, with a very dark fruit profile and some good complexity. Drinking very nicely after proper aeration.

1/3/2018 5:38:00 AM - Hmm... you got luckier than I did. I just had a disappointing experience with 1995 LB which was tight as you describe, disharmonious, unrewarding and drying towards the end. Extended decanting and drinking over a period of three days helped the wine to open up, but also resulted in the wine feeling a little thin from day two. A let down to me and not up to the usual LB standard.
